A disgruntled bride has accused controversial musician Mshoza of ruining her wedding plans.
Priya Khoshal said that she was tired of chasing after her money from Mshoza, who failed to deliver skin lightning creams that she ordered from her.
A tearful Khoshal said Mshoza took her money and promised to help her with her skin. “… but she is now running away from me. She has blocked me on Facebook and even on Whatsapp. All I want is my money.”
Khoshal said she sent Mshoza a Facebook message last year after doing research on skin lightning in SA.
“I told her that I have an upcoming wedding in July, and that I needed my skin problems to be behind me by then.
“She told me that she can sell me skin lightening creams, and that I would be beautiful just like her. She said that I would have to pay R20000.
“I sent her everything in December, and she promised to send the stuff in two weeks. Even now, I’m still waiting … when I call her she hangs up.”
Sowetan has seen Khoshal’s communications with Mshoza, including voice notes over Whatsapp, where Mshoza is heard saying: “Why did you write about me on social media? Do you know that I can sue you for defamation of character?” .
However, Mshoza said it was all a big misunderstanding, and that she is also the victim who got scammed.
“There was a woman from Swaziland that I was working with to sell skin bleaching products, but after a while, I realised that she was a con. She used me because I am well-known, and the problem came in when I would receive money for orders from people, and she wouldn’t deliver the products.”
Mshoza said she has had to pay people’s money back from her own pocket, and that Khoshal will also get her money.
She said Khoshal upset her when she posted about her on Facebook. “She wrote terrible things about me on social media, citing how I was a scam artist and stole her money.”
