A memorial service for late government spokesperson and anti-apartheid activist, Ronnie Mamoepa will take place in Pretoria on Wednesday.
Mamoepa passed away at the age of 56 on Saturday.
He died following complications from a stroke he suffered in June.
Mampoepa was Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa’s spokesperson.
Communications Minister Ayanda Dlodlo, the Government Communications and Information Service (GCIS) management and government communicators are expected to attend.
A state funeral will be held for Mampoepa at the Saint Albans Cathedral on Saturday.
Mamoepa – a former Robben Island political prisoner – has been described as one of government’s best communicators.
He was a member of the Gauteng provincial legislature and served as a spokesperson in various government departments.
