She was once the ultimate It girl: admired by adoring fans, many of whom wanted to be just like her. In a tell-all interview with DRUM, Nonhle Thema shockingly reveals that while many thought she was on top of the world, deep down she was sad and depressed.
“Everything was going well for me and I was at the peak of my career, but my soul was gone”, she says. “I was in the darkest space of my life. I was depressed and didn’t know why”.
The mother of four-year-old Star Phoenix Ivy Zime says her priorities have changed. She says she now knows her mistakes and has learnt from them.
“I woke up one day and said ‘I am tired if living like this’. I needed a change and it was time. Now I’m becoming older and wiser and I want to share my wisdom with other people. Being a mother made me want to explore a whole different space”, she tells us.
