Actress Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa is not surprised by her husband’s “meteoric rise” to international stardom explaining that the couple prayed for it several years ago.

Enhle’s husband, DJ Black Coffee, has fast become one of the most famous South African musicians in the world, having produced projects with the likes of Alicia Keys and Drake.

The DJ recently announced several more projects with Usher and John Legend and his wife said that she was not surprised by his success.

“I have never been surprised by what he has done. We sat down about seven years ago, when we first met, and discussed our goals. We prayed for our goals. Everything he has achieved we prayed for, as a couple, a few years ago.

“Now when anything happens, people will congratulate us but I’m like; ‘we have been praying for this,'” Enhle said.

The actress recently returned from studying drama in America, where she was one of the top students. She also cemented a starring role on e.tv’s new telenovela Broken Vows.

She said that she was inspired to work hard to achieve her dreams because of her husband’s relentless drive and work ethic.

“He has incredible drive. I am so proud of him. He is such an inspiration to me. When I look at him achieving so many of his goals it shows me that my dreams are completely possible,” she added.

Given their success in their careers, the couple are seen by many as one of South Africa’s “power couples”.

Enhle said that she had never felt the pressure of this status and was simply living life like she always had.

“We have never tried to be the “it” couple. We simply fell in love seven years ago and never looked back. To me, he is the same as he has always been and I think he will say the same about me. Our relationship has never changed,” Enhle added.
