AT FIRST she thought it was her boyfriend on top of her but realised it was an intruder.
He had a knife held to her throat as he raped her while choking her with his other hand.
“We fell to the ground but he didn’t stop”.
That was in the early hours of Saturday morning at the woman’s house in Meadowlands zone 6, Soweto.
“My boyfriend (51) does recycling and on weekends he leaves the house very early to collect bottles and cans at taverns,” she said. She said she recognised her attacker as her neighbour’s boyfriend. Later that morning, the man came near the house and that’s when the woman’s boyfriend grabbed him and took him to the police.
But on Monday the man was released after he appeared at the Protea Magistrates Court.
The woman is scared of what the man might do to her.
“He’s dangerous and he knows it was me who got him arrested. What will he do now?” she asked.
His release has angered residents. “This man can’t be allowed to move around freely. Who knows what he’ll do next?” a resident said.
Meadowlands police spokesman Constable Sibusiso Chauke said the man’s release is temporary, pending investigations.
