Jack Motsiela (26), his sister Keamogetse Tladi (28) and their cousin Monica Sejo (26) died in the waters of the river in Ipelegeng, North West. Six occupants including three children survived and were taken to hospital.
“We have lost so many family members. It will take a long time for us to recover from this,” said Jack’s dad Kaelo (60).
Mamusa Municipality Mayor Aaron Motswana told Daily Sun they will assist the bereaved families with the funerals.
“We will organise a mass funeral if the families agree,” said Motswana.
Police said cases of culpable homicide had been opened.
