A TEENAGE mum appeared briefly in the Marble Hall Magistrates Court on Tuesday on charges of concealment of birth.
Marble Hall police spokesman Constable Lethunya Mmuroa said the foetus had been wrapped in a blanket and put inside a plastic refuse bag before being thrown down the pit toilet.
Mmuroa said the owner of the house had heard a noise in her yard and saw three girls laughing and running away.
“She tried to call them, but they ran away. But one of them mistakenly left one of her shoes in the yard,” he said.
He said when the girl returned to fetch her shoe, the woman called the police.
“She disclosed everything, which led to the
arrest of her friend,” Mmuroa said.
The young woman is out on warning until her next appearance on 14 January.
