Miss SA 2017 Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters has set her sights on the Miss Universe crown.
The pageant queen says her preparations for the competition, which is set to take place on Sunday 26 November (venue still to be confirmed), have been well underway since she first took home the Miss SA crown.
“Just as with the Miss South Africa platform, I understand the responsibility of being Miss Universe and the impact it has on millions of lives,” she said in a statement to the press.
“I am extremely excited and proud to represent our Rainbow Nation and cannot wait to wear the name ‘South Africa’ proudly across my chest. It has been 39 years since a South African wore the Miss Universe crown and I promise to dedicate and commit myself to ensure the crown will once again be on South African soil,” she added.
