The 40-year-old woman from Majazane near Grasmere in Gauteng told Daily Sun that a prophet told her on Sunday that she would die in her sleep before the end of the week!
“I was doing my laundry when he came and spoke to me,’’ S’mangele said.
“I have been sick since 2010 and I don’t know what to do now.
“Every night I pray to God to spare my life so I can see my children growing up.”
The prophet visited the area to help with vutha, which was attacking residents.
Daily Sun published a story about the fiery attacks last Wednesday. But people said the prophet soon started telling them things that upset them.
He allegedly told three sangomas that their ancestors were fighting and they had to burn all their bones, muthi and sangoma clothes.
Nonkululeko Mkhathini (45) said she was shocked when the prophet came to her house.
“He walked into the room I use to consult clients, went through my things, and left with some of them. I followed him and in front of many people he told me to burn all my things or throw them into the river,” Nonkululeko said.
“People have started calling me Mam’ Vutha. They believe I am the one causing fires, but I don’t care what he said. I won’t burn my things or throw them away.”
Elsa Mhlotshana, whose house was attacked by flames five times, was told one of her twin daughters would be struck by lightning.
)Daily Sun tried unsuccessfully to find the prophet.
