President Zuma Says He Is Filled With Shame

President Jacob Zuma said he is filled with shame when he visits other African countries.

Zuma said religious leaders have the responsibility to pray for government leaders instead of cursing them.He also said MPs show him no respect in Parliament.

Zuma was delivering a speech at St John Apostolic Faith in Evaton, the Vaal, on Saturday.

He had gone to the church to ask for divine intervention as well as attend Women’s Month celebrations.

“That house was built to discuss how to run the country but now there is a lot of disrespect there.

“I am ashamed when I go to other African countries and I am asked what we are doing in Parliament. Churches must pray for Parliament. Let us ask God to help us,” he said.

He went on to say people hate him for no reason.

“I always wonder what I did to them. Sometimes I just laugh when I realise how much they hate me.”

Zuma said a few African leaders have raised their concerns over the recent chaotic scenes that have taken place in Parliament.

He also told the congregation that women are the pillars of the nation and they must be protected.

After his address, church elders prayed for him.

Those in attendance included the likes of Gauteng Social Development MEC Nandi Mayathula-Khoza and religious leaders as well as a group of amaKhosi from the Vaal.
