A BRITISH Airways Boeing 747 on its way to London crashed into an office building next to the runway at OR Tambo Airport on Sunday night.
One of the wings of the airplane sliced into the building at the Joburg airport as it was preparing to take off.
There were 185 passengers on board but none of them reported any injuries. The airplane was on its way to Heathrow.
“This will be investigated but it was not a major incident. Four ground handling employees who were in the building at the time experienced minor injuries,” she said.
A photo taken by a witness shows the plane almost ramming into the building.
“The airplane veered off the tarmac. There was a loud bang as the wing hit the building,” said the witness.
