NOTHING can stop love – not even rainy weather or a 10-year age gap!
Last week, kwaito star Siboniso Dlamini (24), also known as “Msawawa”, and his manager Angela Gwala (34), celebrated their traditional wedding ceremony at Angela’s house.
In Mzansi, a 25-year age gap means nothing if the husband is older. Strangely, some people are shocked just because Msawawa’s wife is only 10 years older!
Msawawa and Angela have been together since 2009, when they were both in their 20s.
The traditional ceremony known as “umembeso” was held in Ngodini outside Eshowe, KZN.
Despite the rainy weather, hundreds of people came to celebrate with the happy couple, including Angela’s colleagues.
The two lovebirds were in the company of their parents.
The Dlaminis brought gifts for the in-laws, which included expensive suits, more than 10 luxury blankets and two goats.
The happy couple told Sunday Sun that the total amount of money spent on gifts was close to R70 000.
Msawawa told Sunday Sun: “We don’t care about the age gap and the people who are judging us.
“We’re happy that we love each other and respect one another.”
Angela echoed his sentiment: “We don’t care about what other people think about us. As long as we’re happy, we’re fine,” she said.
Angela’s dad, a pastor of the Pentecostal Church, told the People’s Paper that this is God’s will for the two to be together.
They will announce their white wedding date soon.
The only celeb present was Angela’s sister, Muvhango actress Phindile Gwala, who plays Nonny.
