Mulisa Mudau has been waiting a long time for her breakthrough.
Mulisa, who recently joined the Real Goboza team as a field presenter, told SunBuzz she knew her life was going to change when she received a call from the show’s producers.
She said: “I initially auditioned at the Mzansi Insider presenter search, where I made the top five.
“When I was eliminated, I was crushed.
“I cried myself to sleep for days until Real Goboza called me for an audition.
“God has been good to me.
“This is a miracle. I wish my late mum was still alive to see it.
“She knew how passionate I am about being on TV.”
Mulisa said her mum died in 2010, when she was 15.
“My little brother was only 10 years old.
“I am grateful to have such a supportive family that has taken care of us since my mum’s death.”
Her new job will open many doors for her.
“I do not just want to be a local presenter.
“I also want to make a name for myself abroad, like great presenters such as Pearl Thusi and Amanda du Pont.
“I am really grateful for this opportunity.
“Only God knows how this happened but the timing was perfect.”
The presenter born in Sasolburg moved to Joburg from Turfloop, Limpopo as soon as she finished writing her final exams.
She has an honours degree in Library and Information Sciences.
“Next year I am going to start studying part-time.”
Apart from her career in the TV industry, Mulisa is also a radio presenter who has worked for Polokwane-based radio station Energy FM.
