A 19-year-old grade 12 learner was killed at school on Wednesday.
Limpopo cops spokesperson Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said it is alleged that two 19-year-old boys were gambling within the premises of Solomon Mahlangu High School in Modimolle when the incident occurred.
Ngoepe said the two argued and started fighting.
“They were subsequently taken to the principal’s office where they were reprimanded.
“After the intervention, the two were sent back to their classes but on their way back, the suspect pulled out a sharp instrument and stabbed the other learner, killing him instantly,” said Ngoepe.
He said the police were called to the school and have arrested the suspect.
He will appear before the Modimolle Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of murder.
Ngoepe said the cops are condemning acts of bullying and violence by learners at schools with the most strongest terms possible.
