MAN MOERED BY FOUR MEN AFTER HORRIBLE ACCIDENT
33 year old Malose Mongoale was cruising home on Sunday night after a party at his mum’s house in Hammanskraal, when he was in a horrible accident.
His car struck a trailer that was allegedly parked partly on the N1 outside Polokwane in Limpopo, and a dazed Malose got out to inspect the damage.
But more horror was waiting for him. Four men jumped from a Quantum and instead of helping him, allegedly started to assault the injured man.
“When I asked what was going on, they overpowered me and started beating and kicking me.
“Luckily my fiance was driving behind me in her car. If she had not got there immediately they would’ve killed me.
“I’m not even sure if the injuries and pain I’m suffering were caused by the accident or the wild men.
“It was dark and the trailer didn’t have a reflective sign showing that a broken down vehicle was parked on the road ahead.”
To add insult to Malose’s injury, cops at Westenburg Police Station allegedly claimed he had pushed the four men when the assault started.
“How could I start a fight when I was injured?” he asked.
He claimed a warrant officer and a captain called him to their office on Monday.
“They allegedly said if he opened a case of assault, the four men would do the same and they would all be arrested.
“I was threatened with arrest if I continued.”
Morgan Manthata, another driver, said he crashed into the same trailer on Saturday night while travelling with his cousin.
“Before I hit the trailer there was no sign to warn me that it was parked there.
“The men were speaking in Zulu, saying they should kill us because we’d put them in danger. My cousin and I ran away for our safety.”
Limpopo police spokesman Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe said they weren’t aware of the complaint but Polokwane commander General Sam Mokgonyana said they would investigate.
