The Polokwane home of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has been sold on auction for R1.45-million, according to reports.
The South African Revenue Service attached the house at 23 Mopani Street in Flora Park to recoup a R16-million tax debt owed by the expelled ANC Youth League president.
Earlier, auctioneer Aggie Stroh, of Eli Stroh Properties, said the auction was expected to raise around R1.5-million.
“The house is in an excellent condition, with a garden prepared by professionals,” said Stroh.
“The area is a middle class area, (but) it is not economically viable.”
Malema’s incomplete mansion in Sandton was sold at auction for R5.9m in May.
His farm fetched R2.5m at auction in June. Several of his household goods were also auctioned off earlier in the year.
