Tebelo Sephuma, daughter of award wining jazz and afro pop singer Judith Sephuma will be on tonight’s episode of Mzansi Love’s story titled Kiss and Tell.
Playing a lead character, she stages as Portia a young girl from Limpopo who moves to Jozi because of her new PR career that gets caught up in the celebrity life.
“Portia is a young, energetic determined PR agent/celeb “handler”. She has always loved all things celebrity-related and has always wanted to work in the field of public relations and events.
“She moves in with an artist and falls in love.”
The 21 year old, currently studying television production at AFDA is thrilled to be screening on one of the most watched stories on eTV.
Sephuma says it’s not easy to crack it into the industry even if your parents are famous. It took lots of auditions and rejections for her to get her first acting gig.
“I haven’t been acting as a career, this is my first real role. The process to get the role has been difficult as I have been auditioning for years with no luck. It’s exciting.”
The first time actress says people think she has it easy because of her parents when it’s quite the opposite.
“People assume that I get it easy because of my parents, we are on different fields I love to act and they love music. They have taught me to get everything done on my own.
“They were even the last to find out that I was shooting my role for Mzansi Love, I just wanted to surprise them,” Sephuma says.
The ambitious student and actress has high dreams of acting bigger roles and even singing.
“I want to eventually see myself in soapies like Isidingo. There are a lot of options but I can’t do everything at once. I can sing but not like my mom, she has a jazzy soulful voice and I am more of an RnB singer.
