Jackson Mabokgwane has not voted for Oscarine Masuluke’s spectacular goal that was nominated for the Puskas Awards.
It seems the Buccaneers shot-stopper hasn’t healed from conceding the injury time goal and he is not willing to vote for the lanky Bakgaga stopper.
“I’m a football player I don’t go around voting‚ I only play football. Voting is for supporters‚ it’s for fans‚ people should vote for him if they like the goal‚” he said.
Mabokgwane was them man in the post for Orlando Pirates when Masuluke scored an equaliser for Baroka to secure a single point as Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Mabokgwane admits the goal is worthy of a top three Fifa nomination, however, adds that he is basing his view on the importance of the goal and not on his Baroka counterpart’s skill.
“I’m not surprised the goal is in top three because of the importance. It was in the dying minutes and he got points for his team. Funny enough I was actually named Man of the Match in that game but after his goal they gave it to him,” explained Mabokgwane.
