When Boy Molefe allowed his girlfriend to drive his car so he could get to hospital last month, he didn’t realise it was the last he would see of her.
The 34-year-old from Phooko section in Katlehong, Ekurhuleni, said when he got sick, his girlfriend (21), her mum and her brother drove him to Thelle Mogoerane Hospital in his VW black Polo. But they never returned.
“I suspect she thought I was going to die and she could take my car. She never even came to visit me in hospital,” he said.
Boy said his lover was the only beneficiary for his provident fund, pension and other policies because he had nothing but good intentions towards her.
“I wanted to make an honest woman out of her but now she’s scared to show her face because she knows she won’t get anything more out of me.
“And I want her to bring back my car,” he said.
Boy said his biggest mistake was teaching his girlfriend how to drive.
He said he tried to contact her but he doesn’t know where she is. “She and I were very happy but now the thought of her makes me sick to the stomach and drives me crazy,” he said.
When the SunTeam contacted his lover, she asked whether Daily Sun didn’t have anything better to write about and said the newspaper shouldn’t stick its nose where it doesn’t belong.
She also accused the reporter of sleeping with Boy.
Constable Patrick Mashiane said a case of using a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent was opened.
