Gospel star Sello Malete cheats death again
Sello Malete, who survived a serious accident on Friday, night, believes that his family is cursed.
The gospel singer is the son of the late gospel star Sammy Malete who died in a car crash in 1996.
His aunt died a few years later, also in a car crash.
This was Sello’s third escape after two horrific crashes in 2014.
“There is bad luck that keeps following my family. The devil wants to see all of us dying from car accidents. But my grandfather, who is a pastor, believes that we need to pray harder.”
His latest accident happened in the Vaal around 10pm on Friday. The singer was on his way home after a meeting with producers about his upcoming live DVD.
Malete said the accident happened when he tried to avoid knocking down a pedestrian.
He lost control of the car after hitting the pavement and went straight into a wall of a house. The white Golf has been written off while Malete once again came out without a scratch.
“When I look at how the accident happened I am angry at myself. But I’m consoled by the fact it could have been worse.
“I feel bad that [actor] ntate Joe Mafela [who died in a crash] was not as fortunate. This accident almost robbed me of an opportunity to record my first live DVD next month.”
Sello has released four albums in his career, with titles that celebrate salvation and being saved. These are Modisa Waka, Modimo Wabo Ntata Rona, Mpoloke Morena, and Sedi Laka.
