WHEN Dorah Ngoato (52) was offered a house by her mashonisa cousin, she believed she would finally live in her dream home.
But instead of making her dreams come true, the house has brought her nothing but nightmares!
The house is allegedly haunted by an angry Afrikaans mlungu ghost.
The ghost, who comes to the house wearing black trousers, is that of the previous owner who died in February.
Dorah’s cousin, Andries Ngoato, took the house from the man after he failed to pay a R20 000 debt.
Dorah then swapped houses with Andries, who took her house in Lotus Garden, Tshwane.
That was in November, three months before the owner died.
“He said he won’t rest until the house is handed back to his family.”
Dorah said she can no longer take the daily abuse from the ghost.
“He chokes me and threatens to kill me.
“When he comes into my bedroom the walls light up and the darkness turns to daylight,” she claimed.
“I’d rather live on the streets with my children.”
Now Dorah and her two kids sleep outside her former house in Lotus Garden.
“I fear he will kill one of my children to prove a point. My mother has already had two strokes since he started haunting me. I feel something moving in my stomach.
“I’m always tired when I’m at home but when I visit relatives I feel better. Doctors can’t find anything wrong with me.”
But cousin Andries said he knows nothing about the ghost and claims the family have squatted in his yard
“I want them out as soon as possible,” he said.
Sangoma Sibongile Maluleka said the family has to give the house back to the dead man’s family because it was stolen.
“The ghost will never rest until justice is done,” she said.
