Generations: The Legacy to have MORE & MORE S.E.X SCENES – Vundla… This after the the creator of Generations: The Legacy has defended their content, saying people should stop blowing the matter out of proportion. Speaking on the allegations that the soapie is feeding South Africans with p0rnography, the creator of Generations: The Legacy Mfundi Vundla came out guns blazing to defend the series which has been on TV for years.
While there are claims that the soapie is making family television time awkward in many homes, Mfundi said: “There is a warning, a PG13 sign on the screen, which warns people and alerts them that if they have kids they should tell them that it’s Mommy and Daddy’s time now.” Besides, Mfundi said he cannot be held responsible if parents are not doing their job as guardians.
“In Generations we don’t have expl!cit s.e.x or n#dity. We don’t have scenes where people are making love like in Game of Thrones. People must not now sensationalise the matter.”
In addition, the 70-year-old veteran producer is confident they are not doing anything wrong as far as the law is concerned. “I don’t have a letter from the BCCSA [Broadcasting Complaints Commission of SA]. The SABC does not have such a letter either,” he said. Nevertheless, Mfundi apologised to some sensitive viewers who were offended by the soap opera’s titillating scenes. Commenting on the matter, SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago said the public broadcaster is taking the complaints into consideration.
“We would like to assure our viewers that we take their feedback seriously and apologise for any inconvenience or discomfort this week’s episodes may have caused.” The soapie which is the second most watched show on South African television had viewers complaining about the expl!cit scenes between three characters: Smanga Moroka (Moopi Mothibeli) and Tshidi (Letoya Makhene) and the new character Thabi (Motsoaledi Setumo).
