The 20-year-old woman who applied for a senior medical position has been sentenced to three years in jail. Lebo Mokgobu from Kagiso in Mogale City, Gauteng, was found guilty of fraud yesterday.
Mokgobu applied for a cardiologist position at the Polokwane Provincial Hospital by presenting fake medical qualifications.
It happened last year.
A cardiologist is a doctor that specialises in the study or treatment of heart disease.
Hospital staff got suspicious and asked her how she could be 20 years old and have studied seven years to become a doctor.
She was unable to give a proper answer.
The hospital handed her over to the Hawks, who bust her!
Mokgobu didn’t even have matric. Her fake medical qualification had allegedly been obtained from an American institute.
