EMMA STONE Wins the Oscar for Best Actress in ‘La La Land
Emma Stone just won her first Oscar for Best Actress in La La Land.
The 28-year-old beauty swept awards season for her role as Mia in the movie musical alongside Ryan Gosling.
“Thank you so much to the Academy. To the women in this category, Isabelle, Meryl, Ruth, you are all extraordinary and I look up to you more than I can put into words, and it has been the greatest honor just to stand alongside you,” she said on stage. “I realize that a moment like this is a huge confluence of luck and opportunity, so I want to thank Damian Chazelle for the opportunity to be a part of a project that was so special and once in a lifetime. I’m so grateful to have been involved in this film.
She continued, “And Ryan Gosling, thank you for making me laugh and always raising the bar and for being the greatest partner in this crazy adventure. I still have a lot of growing and learning and work to do, and this guy is a really beautiful symbol to continue on that journey and I’m so grateful for that. Thank you.”
She was previously nominated at the Academy Awards for her role in Birdman last year for her supporting role in the Best Picture winner.
Emma also won the Golden Globe, Screen Actors’ Guild award, Critics Choice Award, BAFTA for the now iconic role.
