Four people have been injured one seriously so after two vehicles collided on Otto Volek Road over the M19 in Pinetown on Saturday afternoon.
Just after 4pm Rescue Care Paramedics responded to the accident scene and found that the two vehicles had collided in a T Bone format.
One person was entrapped in the wreckage and had to be cut free by the Fire Department using the Jaws of Life and hydraulic equipment whilst paramedics stabilised him in the wreckage.
Once he was freed he was carefully extricated by Paramedics. Three other patients were treated on scene and also transported to various hospitals for the further care that they required.
At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on scene and will be investigating further.
