All Thabo Mokoena wanted was to get his jacket back, but he ended up losing his life in the process.
Thabo (25), from Orange Farm extension 6, south of Joburg, apparently fought with his 23-year-old girlfriend on Wednesday and they decided to end the relationship.
The girlfriend allegedly told Thabo to wait outside and she would bring him the jacket.But when she came out, she allegedly stabbed Thabo and left him bleeding on the street.
Residents saw him and called an ambulance.
He was taken to Emergency 2 Clinic in Orange Farm and then referred to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, but he died a few hours after being admitted.
Now Thabo’s family wants his jacket back.Thabo’s sister, Ntswaki Mokoena (28), said they won’t rest until justice has been served.
“All that my brother wanted was to get his jacket back. He died for his favourite jacket.“Why did she kill him for that?
“Thabo loved that jacket. We won’t bury him without it,” said Ntswaki.
She told the People’s Paper that her brother loved his girlfriend, but he was tired of fighting.
Orange Farm police spokesman Captain Johannes Motsiri said: “I can confirm that an arrest was made after a man was murdered in extension 6.
“The suspect was charged with murder and later released on bail.“Police are still investigating the case.”
