Trade Union giant Cosatu says it stands by Deputy President, Cyril Ramaphosa amid an unfolding s-e-x scandal.
The union announced a while back it would support Ramaphosa’s bid to lead the ANC.
Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma is seen as the other frontrunner in the race for party president.
Cosatu’s arguing that while it expects exemplary conduct from office bearers, it’s not the moral police.
Cosatu’s national spokesperson, Sizwe Pamla said: “The silly attempts to use this non-issue to send Deputy President to political exile will fail and the whole thing reeks of the worst elements of political correctness.
We will not dismiss an entire person as rotten on the grounds of one component we don’t like or disagree with. COSATU remains fully behind Cde Ramaphosa’s campaign to be the next president of the ANC.”
Cosatu there’s a smear campaign against Ramaphosa.
Ramaphosa is accused of having extra-marital affairs with at least eight women, one of whom says she’s never even met him.
