That was the call from Amakhosi star Siphiwe “Shabba” Tshabalala ahead of their tricky Absa Premiership encounter against Polokwane City at FNB Stadium tonight (7.30pm).
Chiefs are recovering from the 1-0 Telkom Knockout semifinal home loss to Platinum Stars at the weekend.
Chiefs, the defending champions, are sixth on the table (15 points) having won four, drawn three and lost two of their nine games.
Tshabalala said: “We were sad with the cup exit but that is history now. Let’s forget about that and focus on how we can bounce back and get the three points from City.
“This game is very important to us and we know the expectations. Now let’s work towards putting ourselves in a better league position, winning as many games possible and finishing strong in the first round of the campaign.”
However, the plucky Limpopo rookies are determined to give the Glamour Boys and coach Stuart Baxter a bumpy ride later this evening as flat Chiefs work towards regaining their lost mojo from last season.
Compounding matters is the suspension of Knowledge Musona for tonight’s game while Tsepo Masilela (hamstring), Lucky Baloyi and Kaizer Motaung Junior (both knee) are still recovering from injuries.
The Soweto outfit suffered defeat in their previous league encounter, going down 1-0 to Ajax Cape Town two weeks ago.
In contrast, the Polokwane outfit is improving as a unit under Boebie Solomons and enter the fray on the back of a resounding 3-0 victory over University of Pretoria on Sunday.
Shabba said: “City will definitely not be a walk in the park and come to us highly motivated after their win. But we are focused on ourselves and our own planning for the game.”
