Then a bomb landed next to their sleeping son!
Florence Adams (32) and her husband Trompie Johnson were at home in Toekomsrus on the West Rand.
They were watching TV when they heard a bang from the room where three-year-old son Naidi slept.
When they checked, they found broken window glass and something lying next to Naidi – and it was ticking.
They grabbed Naidi and ran out!
When police arrived they called the bomb squad, who confirmed that it was a bomb and detonated it in the veld.
Florence said she is living in fear. In January two shots were fired through their bedroom window. They reported the incident to the police.
“We don’t know who fired the shots or why,” she said.
Captain Appel Ernst said: “A case of attempted murder has been opened and police are investigating.”
