A mother gave birth to a baby boy him and left him to die in an illegal dumpsite in Motherwell, Port Elizabeth.
Luckily, hungry ekasi dogs and rats didn’t find the little baby. But a security guard heard his screams and saved him.
Social worker Nontobeko Rubushe said the baby boy was found on Monday morning.
“The baby was covered in grass with wet clothes. His umblical cord was still attached to him. The guard realised the baby was alone and alerted cops.
“The baby was taken to Motherwell Health Centre and later taken to Dora Nginza Hospital. The baby is healthy and strong,” Rubushe said.
Captain Andre Beegte said: “We are still looking for the mother. We appeal to community members to assist us in tracing the mother of the child.
