Ayanda Thabethe to join the Top Billing family
Model and TV personality Ayanda Thabethe is ready to slay and live out one of her childhood dreams as the newest addition to the Top Billing family.
Ayanda was unveiled as a new face on the SABC 3 lifestyle show, which has been giving viewers a taste of the “good life” for more than a decade, at a swanky reveal event recently.
The model, who co-presents BET’s The A-List, has definitely cemented her place in the industry, and has no plans to stop.
Ayanda described the venture as a dream come true.
“As cliché as it may sound, this is a dream that I’ve had since a little girl. So this success I share it with my family, because for them it’s a realisation that what you speak about really becomes reality,” she said.
Ayanda added that this moment brought her an overwhelming amount of joy and happiness.
The petite bombshell plans to give the country a glimpse into who Ayanda is and that includes a whole lot of ‘goofiness’.
“I’m going to bring a lot of goofiness, because I’m goofy as hell. My first show which has been filmed already, I was so scared and freaked out, people are really going to get to know me a little bit better,” she added.
Ayanda explained that it was important for her to be herself and not put on a persona.
The model, who burst onto the entertainment scene in 2012 when she presented Top TV’s entertainment showTop Entertainment , believes that she was more than ready to take on any challenge that was thrown her way.
Especially the challenges that come with being in the spotlight and being called an ‘it girl’.
“I take being called an ‘it girl’ as a compliment, because it means I’ve made a mark. Because lets be honest: to get people to notice you in this industry is really hard. So I take it as an honour,” she said.
Ayanda added that she had decided to concentrate on the job and not worry about everything else.
“I really do love presenting, I really do love getting to know people’s stories, love profiling South Africans. That’s where I’m going to focus my energy, everything and anything else that comes, I believe that I have the grace and ability to handle it when it comes. “
