A number of events, marches and pickets aimed at pressuring President Jacob Zuma to quit have been planned across the country.
Police have to used a stun grenade to save a DA supporter from being attacked by members of an ANC Youth League lead protest in Durban.
The protesters‚ some of whom were wearing ANCYL t-shirts‚ were running amok pushing their way towards the Durban beachfront where the DA is having its anti-Zuma march.
The DA supporter‚ who was assaulted with sticks‚ was immediately taken in a police vehicle from the mob who caused panic among some motorists as they banged their cars along the way. Other DA supporters ran for cover from the mob.
He cannot break the spirit of the South African people because people want justice. People want freedom. People want fairness. People want our constitution to be the supreme law,” Western Cape Finance MEC Ivan Meyer told a crowd in Cape Town.
