has been announced as the brand ambassador of the new Amstel beverage called Radler.
In his first speech as an Amstel Radler brand ambassador, Clement spoke of how he grew up in a strict environment which didn’t allow him to touch alcohol until he was 21.
“It made me realize that I am allowed to drink, as long as I do it responsibly so,” he said.
Although Clement didn’t want to discuss how lucrative the deal was, he did say: “The zeros are quite decent”.
In a chillas-style launch of the drink in Northcliff, Joburg yesterday, Amstel introduced its new lemon juice infused beer as well as welcomed Clement to the brand.
Speaking to us, Clement said: “When Amstel first approached me, I had never thought that I would be associated with a brand. But it somehow resonates with who I am. When I first tasted Radler I thought I was so tasty.
“As a brand, it was also a matter of me growing and trying new things,” said Clement.
The launch was also attended by Amstel Marketing Manager, Khaya Dlanga, who spoke to us.
“We were looking for someone who is funky but does not try too hard; some who is doing well for themselves and is on the come up,” said Khaya.
“He is the perfect person to be an ambassador because he is the kind of person that we want for the brand; someone who is down to earth,” he said.
Khaya also the opportunity to express the company’s commitment to responsible drinking and their commitment to being responsible in the distribution of their product.
