Nine people were injured when a taxi they were travelling in overturned on Old Greytown Road in Pietermaritzburg, paramedics said.
ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak said paramedics arrived on the scene where they found the taxi standing on its wheels in the road.
“Bystanders explained that the taxi rolled onto its side and members of the community pushed it back onto its wheels prior to emergency workers’ arrival on scene. Two people sustained serious injuries and were treated for multiple fractures,” he said.
Seven others were treated on the scene for minor to moderate injuries. All of the occupants were later transported to Northdale Hospital for further care.
