The woman from KZN was bust yesterday by Jabulani cops in Soweto, after she had taken money from people all over Mzansi for cattle she was supposedly selling.
During questioning, she told the police that she used muthi called “phetlhwa” from Zambia to make her victims listen to her. She claimed that the muthi could also make her disappear.
Police spokesman Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela told Daily Sun that the woman was arrested while trying to collect money from some of her victims. He said three people went to the police station on Tuesday to open cases of theft against the woman after paying large amounts of money to her.
When they went to KZN to collect their cows, she had disappeared and switched off her cellphone.
“The victims made contact with her again, saying they had more cash to buy more cows, and a bait arrest was made,” Makhubela said.
The woman is expected to appear in the Protea Magistrates Court on Monday.
