LITTLE Ntsoaki Ncedane (4) didn’t care about rushing home with her siblings.
The little girl stayed behind after a family outing with her mum Nomvula! So she’s alive today – but sadly her three little brothers died. Ntsokolo (11), Boitumelo (8) and Neo (7) burned to death when their shack caught fire.
The incident happened at Snake Park in Maokeng, near Kroonstad in the Free State on Saturday. Nomvula’s sister, Selina Mokatsana (58), said her sister had taken her four kids for an outing on Saturday.
“My sister loved her kids. On their way back the three boys decided to run home, leaving their mum and Ntsoaki behind. “I got a call saying my sister’s shack was burning. When I arrived I saw the three little burnt bodies of my nephews,” sad Selina said.
Little Ntsoaki walked sadly through the burned wreck of the shack looking at the ashes of her toys and the bed she used to share with her mother. The fire destroyed everything in the shack. The three brothers were pupils at Lovedale Primary School.
Lieutenant-Colonel Annelie Wrensch said the police were investigating arson.
“And there is a possibility that the mother could be charged with child
neglect,” said Wrensch.
